Good Morning

Yesterday afternoon a student at our former church called to ask for some advice about a difficult situation that they are in right now. It was great to hear from them again and to still be active in their lives even though we have moved away from them. After that, some friends at our new church home brought some things by for my wife and we stood outside in the driveway and talked for a very long time. At some times, the laughter was so loud that I was concerned that the neighbors may call the "law" on us. (In some places we say "the police" or "the law enforcement." In Alabama, it is just "the law.") Anyway the point this morning is that it is amazing how God sends these types of people and situations into our lives to provide a balance for us.

Often times in any career or profession it is so easy to become focused on all of the negative situations that are going on around us. We begin to try to put these fires out just for another one to pop up somewhere else. This leads to us running a rat race that we will never actually win. And that is the difficult thing to understand when you have a "type A, Mr. Fix it" personality. When this happens we begin to lose sight of our main objectives, get frustrated, and honestly we just want to quit. We want to quit because of pure exhaustion. Then! Then there are those moments that you have conversations with people that mean so much to us and we become thankful that God has put us right where we need to be for His reasons. People are people. No matter if it is here or there. Be thankful for the people that God has placed in your life as encouragement and lean on them. Don't let the devil and the flesh make you make bad decisions out of frustration.
